MAJOR PROJECTS
JAPAN POWER MARKET ENTRY AND JPP DERIVATIVES TRADING PLATFORM
Project Lead Risk Operations
The new product offering in Japan Power Futures is the first Asian market entry for the EEX, the biggest power exchange group in the world. My areas of responsibility in the scope of this project included a complete risk analysis, product listings, development of margining solutions and the trade registration platform, JPP. The Asian market entry and creation of the JPP trade registration platform supports further market expansion of EEX power derivatives.
POWER PURCHASING AGREEMENTS DERIVATIVES HEDGING
Lead of the Task Force for the PPA Trade Registration
I am currently leading the Task Force for the PPA Futures Trade Registration process at the EEX and ECC AG. My main areas of focus include risk analysis of the available price ranges for the long-term futures contracts and process optimisation.
*PPAs are necessary to finance long-term renewable energy projects. To mitigate price and counterparty risks and secure long-term cash flows, EEX offers cash settled futures for the next 10 years.
TRADING HUB EUROPE GMBH MERGER
Project Lead Risk Operations
The merger of 2 companies and gas market areas GPL and NCG into the nationwide gas market area Trading Hub Europe (THE) managed by the merged company THE GmbH enhances the reference pricing for the German gas market as well as increases the overall liquidity and improves market security. My areas of focus within the scope of the merger include market and risk analysis, product listing and delistings, and gas futures open interest transfer to the THE.
BLOCKCHAIN SEMINAR FES
Seminar Leader
I have organised and led the 3-day Blockchain Seminar "Blockchain ist das Kunst oder kann das weg?" together with the Weizenbaum Institute in Berlin for the participants of the Friedrich-Ebert Scholarship Program.
The seminar dealt with the critical questions concerning blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies: blockchain use cases, DeFi, different consensus mechanisms, pseudo-anonymity, political framework in Germany. The speakers included crypto exchange employees, research and political representatives, and speakers from blockchain companies.
